Runway 4-22 (5-23) Rehabilitation and Taxiway E Relocation
Venice Municipal Airport - Venice, Florida
AID has serves as the general consultant for this airport and provided design, bidding, and construction management of Runway 4-22 rehabilitation and Taxiway E relocation. This project consisted of the reconstruction of Runway 4-22 (now 5-23) and the partial parallel Taxiway E and safety area improvements. The design included relocating a golf course driving range within the approach, modifying 9 holes, relocating security fencing, tree removals, and RSA regrading. AID prepared a Modification to FAA Design Standards to allow the City to use Cold-In-Place Recycling of the surface and base material to be used for a stabilized base. This process provided the City with significant cost savings and reduced environmental impacts. This project was awarded the 2013 FDOT General Aviation Project of the Year.
